Evidence for the leaching of dissolved organic phosphorus to depth

Phosphorus (P) can leach from topsoil in inorganic and organic forms. While some evidence has shown P (orthophosphate) to depth soils, less is known of dissolved (DOP). This not helped by a paucity DOP data for groundwater. We hypothesized that species would greater amounts at faster rate through aquifer gravels than orthophosphate. applied superphosphate with or without dung low P-sorption soil under pasture irrigation. Between 0.7 (control) 2.4 (dung +superphosphate) kg ha?1 was leached 30 cm mean ratio DRP 1.5. At 50 cm, 1.3 the decreasing 1.1 due leaching (or sorption). There little difference losses measured 150 depth. All compounds except monoester – inositol hexakisphosphate were orthophosphate gravels.
